Here are just a few of the things people have said about staying at Wiveton. Staying here really is a unique opportunity to be so close to this beautiful coast in the peace and quiet of Wiveton. During your visit you will be able to enjoy the café, shop and Pick Your Own which are all just a few yards away. The estate is so picturesque that you will hardly need, or want, to go anywhere.

A blissful break has been experienced at this cottage retreat. From the window could you ask for a better view? At the recommendation of previous residents we have duly filled the bird feeder in the front garden and were delighted by the appearance of a Jay in the first few minutes, together with a daily visit from a pheasant and a host of garden birds. Bird goodies are readily available at a shop just by the Albert Street car park in Holt, a particularly nice town to visit. Other recommendations include Wells beach to see the immense variety and number of beach huts along this stretch of coast and the grand pine backdrop. Venturing further afield has also paid off with the house and grounds at Sandringham being super duper, lovely to go part of the way via country lanes to get a real sense of the county. Lastly, Wiveton Farm Shop and Café brought us here and is such a happy place. If you like the fabric in the cottage, a trip to Verandah in Holt is also recommended.

Just as amazing second time around, already wondering when we will book to come again. Cottage cosy as ever, everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Baxter loved exploring the garden, front and back and the walk to Blakeney around the marshes was just the right excuse to justify some tea and cake. Ice-cream at Picnic Fayre was divine and very welcome in the long hot sunny days. Thanks again for a lovely holiday.

We have really enjoyed our week here, even the weather smiled on us! The surroundings even inspired us to paint the view from the bedroom windows. We are normally full of good intentions but don’t usually get round to actually painting. From the window we saw chaffinches, creenfinches, a jay (several times) a woodpecker and a barn owl. Walking nearby we saw various LBJ’s and tantalising glimpses of what we thought was a pair of marsh harriers. We can recommend Holkham Hall and beach and really enjoyed the calm of Burnham Overy Staithe. You can park for free and just enjoy the view. We ate very well at the Friday Tapas night at Wiveton Hall Café and would have returned on Saturday had it not been fully booked. We also had a very good meal at the Wiveton Bell. The Smokehouse in Cley is very good, too many things to try in one week but we had bloaters, kippers, smoked mackarel and dressed crab. We tried out the steam train from Holt to Sheringham and can recommend that you take the 11.15am train, returning on the 13.30pm. This allows just enough time for a stroll, a quick pint and fish and chips at Strait’s Fish Bar before the return journey.
